Thirty-six years in Tennessee real estate finance: as an underwriter, a loan officer, and the founder of his own mortgage company. This is the experience behind every deal he touches.
In 1990, Monty Moore started reading loan files for a living. Income statements, credit histories, appraisals, contracts: the paperwork that decides whether a family gets the keys or gets a phone call that starts with "unfortunately." Do that for a few years and you learn how deals work. Do it for three decades and you learn something more valuable: exactly how they fall apart.
In 1996 he founded his own mortgage company and spent the next twenty-eight years running it, through the late-90s boom, the 2008 collapse, the long recovery, and the frenzy of the 2020s. He underwrote and originated loans for thousands of Middle Tennessee families, bought and sold his own properties along the way, and built the kind of market memory you can't get from a weekend licensing course: which neighborhoods hold value in a downturn, what appraisers actually do under pressure, which loan structures survive underwriting and which ones are marketing.
In 2024, he sold the company. Most people would call that retirement. Monty got his real estate license instead.
"After 36 years of watching deals from the lender's chair, I wanted to sit on the client's side of the table, and bring everything I know with me."
Monty MooreReal estate agents learn financing from the outside: a course module, a lunch-and-learn, a lender rep's pitch. Monty learned it by approving and declining loans for thirty years. In practice, that means:
Monty is a REALTOR® with Keller Williams Realty in Pleasant View, the heart of the Nashville-Clarksville corridor he's called home professionally for his entire career. His closings run from Clarksville's military neighborhoods to Ashland City river property, Robertson County farmland to Gallatin investment homes, and Nashville first-time purchases. His Zillow record: 31+ closings, and a 5.0 rating with every single review a five.
He answers his own phone. He returns calls fast; his reviews say so with striking consistency. And he'll tell you the truth about a house, a price, or a loan even when it costs him the deal, because 36 years in this business taught him the only asset that compounds is a straight reputation.
